From Passion
to Purpose
Fursa Foundation was born out of a shared vision among young medical doctors to create a healthier, more equitable future for women and girls in Tanzania. Our journey began in 2021, and since then, we’ve been working tirelessly to empower underserved communities and transform lives.
Foundation Established
Officially registered as a community-based organization, focusing on menstrual hygiene, women’s empowerment, and gender equality.
Launch of WASH Program
We initiated the WASH Program, distributing reusable sanitary pads and providing menstrual hygiene education to hundreds of girls in Mwanza.
Expanding Impact
Introduced entrepreneurship and digital skills training through our Women Empowerment Program, reaching more than 300 women.
Standing Against GBV
Our Ending Gender-Based Violence program now works with youths, schools, and local leaders to promote respect and equality, impacting thousands of lives.

WASH Program
We’re committed to breaking the barriers that prevent girls from attending school and participating fully in their communities due to a lack of menstrual hygiene products.
Through our WASH Program, we have not only provided reusable sanitary pads but also educated young girls on menstrual health, helping them regain confidence and dignity.
Women Empowerment Program
Empowerment is at the heart of everything we do. Through training in entrepreneurship, digital skills, and financial literacy, we’re equipping women with the tools they need to become self-reliant and economically independent.

Ending GBV Program
We believe that every woman and girl has the right to live free from violence and fear.
Through awareness campaigns, workshops, and support services, we’re working to change attitudes, promote gender equality, and create safer environments for women and girls.
Fursa Foundation
We are dedicated to empowering adolescents, young women, and underserved communities through initiatives that promote menstrual hygiene, women’s entrepreneurship, and gender equality.
